Camry Paces Nascar

Any one notice the pace car at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. It was a friggin' Camry! I can't stand it! I hate Toyota, Honda, Hundai, etc. Buy American already and save the damn country! And don't tell me they're made in America and that makes it OK. Cause it's not! BTW they didn't sell out the race. HA!

Pretty disgraceful for our country in all regards. Those crap boxes are not American and never will be. Period. I can see no real American companies in our future. Like another post read, "this country is going down the toilet..." and the government has hold of the flush handle...

As a good point, remember all of the Olds' that paced the races long ago!

Agreed the pace car should be American.

I like the Hyundais, Toyota's becomming too big, just like Honda did about 20 years ago (Note Honda was the first 4 cyl car to reach the $20K mark)

The Japanense and Korean cars are COPIES. The car is an American invention, bottom line. It's really too bad that back during the fuel crisis and American car quality sucking at one time, is hurting the American car market today.

BTW ask any ricer what the 1st "sport compact" car is and they will say the 92-95 Civic. They are wrong. By defention the first sport compact was the 1991 Olds 442

That's only because GM has no brands left to pace the race!

I went to the Dollar General 300 on the 10th. I was already irritated enough by the 4 straight caution laps, and looking at that queer little pace car the whole time didn't help any.

Camry Hybrid pacecar - UGHHHHHH!

I used to love NASCAR until the race cars lost the resemblance to actual factory vehicles. It was more interesting when there was some kind of connection between the cars you saw racing on Wide World of Sports and the ones you saw on the street. Without the stickers a Camry may as well be a Charger. You would never mistake a Torino Talledega for a Superbird. Even when the King was racing Cutlasses in the late '70's, the cars maintained separate identites and a connection with showroom models.

Just quit watching it and boycott thier products, thats what I did. Now, I could care less what they do, plus more free time instead of watching round and round. Ken

i havent been to a race since Atlanta in 1990,i was right in front of Bill Elliott's pit when Ricky Rudd spun in pit row, killing Bill Elliott's rear tire changer

NASCAR is now entertainment, nothing more, run by the corporations and their rolling billboards.

Stub says sec 103 row 53 seat 7

I of course moved closer and took someone else's seats that didn't bother to show.
Ended up due right and behind the flag tower.

Roger that J. I suppose if they had a Fusion out there they would have to pace the race at 45mph. I think that's as fast as they go. And yeah, all the cars are the friggin same. What a joke. On me. It's not even fun.

Have not been a fan since they took stock cars out. We should sue them for mis representation as they no longer run stock cars.
