That car reminds me of one of those orange/cream popsicles you can buy from the ice cream man.

The sad thing is, the workmanship does not seem to be lacking...just taste.

Those wheels aren't too big, the car's too small.
![]() Reminds me of a Gerber creamed carrot baby food and milk color, had plenty of that spewed on me. I hate it when your burping them and they look you right in the eyes and let out a big burp and it projectiles right into your face. Not as much as that car though. ![]() |

I think that is a good example of what is called a "Donk". As was mentioned, looks well done, from the photo anyway, just way out of range for the taste of most of us here at this site.

The factory wheels would be the best way to improve the looks, and the value of that poor car...

It would not take too much to save the car. New wheels and paint the orange a different color , depends on the interior. I hate to see what he did to that.

Just what the heck is a "Donk?" I've seen the expression on another [probably more youthful board]

I saw on a another board that "Donk" comes from the cheap end of the GM line. Seems they first started hanging the 22's and lifting the modern Impala. Somehow the Impala on the emblem got converted to donkey and then shortened to donk. Now that term is just applied in general to cars so altered.

ah
seems to make sense. I had a 66 impala SS 325 hsp 327 with the 2 speed glide She was not all that fast as it could have used a big block , god knows there was enough room for one.

The others are sharp. but jacking a car up into the stratosphere, to get some cheesie wheels on it isn't for me. They serve no purpose and are, from a technical stance counterproductive. Esthetically they throw off the proportions and lines of the car.

In the first post of that thread he gives a link to a video. I watched it and not all the cars are that bad. At about 24 seconds there is a white car with modified full fender skirts that have blue waves painted on them. Not a fan of the treatment of that car but I recognize it. I think it was a '39 or '40 Graham "shark nose". I'll try to find an unmolested one to show how they used to look.
