The site is not dead. As far as I can say. But I'm not going to give out any false hope or rumours either. As we mentioned on OP... we do not know what exactly his intentions are at this point. However it is apparant that he requires a break...

I hope they get it back up. OP is blocked at my work so this is the only place I can get a fix during the day LOL

I haven't been on ROP forever. They had really good performance information and tips there. I hope they can get the site running again.

I was there yesterday and there was some really, really, bad backbiting and flaming going on. Some of it involved a member who was banned because of a dispute with a well known vendor/member over there. It was nasty. I thank God we don't have those problems here and hope we never do. Too bad, as Jesse said they had some really good performance data over there. Is there any way to recall that data for information purposes? Anybody know?

Ok, This totally sucks!
I have been a member on ROP (as well as this site and OP) for only a short time, but have had nothing but positive experiences on all three of the sites.
I have all my computers set to load all three pages when I start up Firefox. I live on these sites. I have had some great parts swapping experiences with a few people from these sites as well. I am currently in the middle of a deal for my seats that I bought from a member over on ROP (there was an ongoing thread over there still about them) that are being shipped to another member of ROP in Buffalo, for me to pick up. Luckily I have enough info in my emails etc. to still contact them both. That was my first "HOLY SH&TE!!" when I learned of it being down.
Anyhow, I really, really hope that it does come back up, and that the problems that caused it's "crash" is resolved.
I've seen some people offer to help them out with some of the "moderator" type duties. Hell I'm on here enough too, I'd be willing to help out in any way that I could if it were to help get it back up and keep it up.
We as Olds lovers need these places to "get together" and swap parts and stories.
Anyway, that's my rant.
PLEASE BRING ROP BACK!!!!
Duane

that person that got banned had nothing to do with the situation with a certain engine builder.

i dont think he never bought or sold anything on ROP or even met anybody there personally,or contributed anything to the board.

he was starting topics trying to get people stirred up and he got shown the door by the Hunts.

Yep it does suck. ROP is the place to be when talking performance. It was the home to the fastest Oldsmobiles in the country! And a whole bunch of slow ones! LOL (including me) I hope the Hunts will bring it back. Russel was very tolerant to peoples BS and trash talk, i guess he just got sick of it. Im sure they can figure a way to make it work. If not it would just be a shame.
