what is your cars name? and why

I never got into naming my cars. I called my Cutlass, "The Cutlass." I named my Vette, "The Vette." Or maybe I've called a red car, "The Red Car." Because it was Red. At one point I had 11 cars so it would have been hard to name them all.

My 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale's name was christened with the previous owner bought it back in 1978. He named it "Big Sexy", so that is the name I will stick with. A fitting tribute to a classy old Aircraft Engineer, who handed me his classy old mistress.
My first Oldsmobile, 1982 Delta 88, is named "Old Trusty", because no matter what went wrong with it, no matter what temperature, or what day it was, it always started right up. Its been in my Dad's hands since 2014, and have calculated the original miles with the only previous owner's with dad's tracking, at 366,269 miles on the 307 as I type. And it STILL starts and runs with no issues, except the decaying interior lol. He now calls it the "Old Bastard". Sorry lol, don't know about language restrictions here but that is what he calls it now.
The Jeep Cherokee's name went from "Dingbat", because Chrysler electronics, to "Red Raider" when the rebuild was complete. My wife's 2016 Focus Hatchback in the "Mighty-Mite", because it is a mighty little gas-saver with LOTS of excess power, and a nifty little 5-speed manual.

I searched this site, and didn't fine a discussion on what you name your car, most of use, if not all of us, have a nick name, or pet name for are cars! I have a 73 442 4 speed, and I named it gear jammer, ( because it's a 4 speed, and I like the song) I also have a 71 Buick skylark convertible , it's name is O'l rusty ( it was rusted away bad, every time I worked under it, rust fell on me) Replaced , floors, trunk floors, wheel wells , Quarters, everything. had a 72 firebird, in high school, named Beth , old girl friends name ( you all know why I named it after her, good old days). So what do you call your car? and why?

I call the two Oldses "the silver car" and "the black car". However, there is an unofficial name for the silver car. "Edwina" or just Winna as a nickname. Previous owner called it Eddie as that was the name of the previous owner before him. Machines should be called women's names for historical reasons so I changed it to the aforementioned Winna. Anyone I have told its name is Winna, asks if that's a pronunciation of "winner". I say, no, it's a girl's name. Then they look at me weird like Winna? I say I knew a girl named Winna (nickname for Edwina) who was the pastor's daughter at my church when I was a teenager. I'll leave it at that...
