vinyl conversion
hey i have a 71 olds cutlass "S" like the 442 body style that i want to convet to vinyl top. how much would it cost and what do i have to buy

Vinyl tops are awsome! You can take it to a shop that does interiros and they should put you on the right track.

vinyl top
I love my top.It kind of gives the car a different look.I'm in San Francisco and I was quoted at 400.

Vinyl tops are pretty when done right. I did a little checking into it for my 68. The firs thing I was asked was how much rust I wanted back on my car. I would listen to Joe were I you. I would rather have my car for a while, especially after all the work I'm going through to get the rust out of it now. Check around before you buy, and think hard cuz the car will rust.

I have a 72 4-4-2 and I am going back with a vinyl top. I am doing a complete retoration of it. When I first got the car the first thing I did was remove the vinyl top because I also thought that it would be very rusty underneath the vinyl,but to my surprise there was absolute not one spot of rust under the vinyl,and what what I can tell it was the original vinyl. I had one heck of a time trying to get it off,took me several hours to remove. I brought the car down to the bare metal.There is a company that sells a replica off the origal vinyl with the correct grain,but dont have that info handy at this moment but I will post it once I find it.
