350/425/455 in a '54 olds 88

Hey guy, i'm new to the group and i'm guessing that classic olds is the place for advice. I have a '54 2-door sedan with a 324 and that's cool but I would really like to update the motor/trans so I can go to Napa and buy parts over the counter. Has anybody out there made this sort of swap? Also, I was wondering if I had to have a '57 olds rear or would '58-'64 be just as good, 'cause I have access to both. Thanks, Keith
