Only Yellow 1977 442?
Hi guys and gals, I have a friend who has a 1977, 442. I have seen this car up close and it appears to be a real 442. He thinks and was told that it is the only '77 442 with a factory yellow paint scheme. I looked at the car inside and out, door jams, underneath, under hood etc and if somebody repainted this car they sure went to a load of trouble; had to have taken it appart! The vin is 3G37R7R146926. My questoin is to you who have these 442 model years and if this is truely the only yellow 442. The original owner told my friend that she saw a yellow one in a sales brochure and was told that Olds di not make yellow, so, she ordered it straight from Olds!
Thanks, Stacey |

Even if the color is pretty rare, at least you can still get parts.
My 1915 Oldsmobile(s) (model 42). To the best of my knowledge, (and AACA, HCCA, and NAOC), there are 10 known in existence (plus the possibility of a couple probably hiding somewhere in a barn). I have acquired 3 of these just to be able to put one together with all factory parts. If anyone is in the Niagara Falls / Rochester NY area and wants to play - stop by Geneseo and we can put this together! ![]()

Joe, did you stage that picture or are you always that organized? Very cool project and one that is very challenging I bet!

To check out some of the other cars, check out www.geocities.com/jjferrero to "Joe's Hobby" to "Joe Car Collection" It's truely a mess! I am going to try to "clean house" and downsize my collection. I'll remove non oldsmobile project vehicles and just do pre1960 oldsmobiles. (in case people are interested - make a reasonable offer and they just might be yours!) I'll be adding more photos of the 1948 Oldsmobile restoration process as I scan the photos in (the two tone green one you saw) on the website at www.geocities.com/oldsmobile1948 . I will be also adding more photos of the two 1915 Oldsmobiles to www.geocities.com/oldsmobile1915 . You can during the restorations, I am not as neat as I would like to be. Anyone out-there have restoration process shots to show off??

I bet it is the only one EVER painted that way. You should call Barret Jackson immediately. They can auction your car tomorrow and Jay Leno might buy it for $40 million.
