Rear bumpers that hard to get?

Hi folks. This is my first post! Seems like a very friendly forum! Thanks to those who moderate it!

I haven't had any luck finding a nice '63 Olds 88 rear bumper. A guy I talked to thru ebay says they're almost non-existent. They're all rusted. The only nice ones are on nice cars. Is this true? Any realistic repair for rusted rear bumper? Thanks - Jim

If it is not too bad can you weld in patches then have it rechromed?
