1967 442, Frame Off Restoration

THIS IS NOT MINE. I saw it at a local nostalgia drags yesterday. 4 speed, bench seat stripper. 400E block. 5V on the Lansing cowl tag. I spoke with the elderly owner and briefly looked it over. The paint is decent, the car seems solid for an upstate NY, car but I didn't really get under it. The price of $18.5 seems like a steal. I don't know anything else about it but I would caution a serious buyer that the registration had the letter N as the plant code instead of M and it should be corrected. There are no titles for vehicles older than 72 in NY.

BTW if someone on here buys it they owe me a finders fee of giving my 12 year old daughter a ride in it. She loves it

It sure was Joe. The color is just beautiful. In 68 it would be Ocean Turquoise, not sure what they called it in 67.

The owner has had it 10 or 15 years. I'm not sure how recent the restoration is. There was another list of things that have been recently completed and what still needs to be done that I didn't get a picture of. It said the tranny needs finishing so I'm guessing it still needs to be rebuilt but he drove it there so it couldn't be too bad. Not a "correct" restoration in the engine bay. He told me it took years to get the brakes fixed so they'd work correctly. I think that's why the proportioning valve is hanging out where it is (I assume that isn't correct)

Here are a couple more pics:

It looks like a great start for $18.5 and probably negotiable a smidge. At that price you'd be able to spend money on what needs to be done to make it right and enjoy while not being to terribly upside down. Was the interior nice?

The interior was nice although I didn't really look at much more than the fact that it was very basic. It may have even had rubber floor mats.

What show did you see this at? Must have been one (of the many) that I miss in our area. Great color.

It was at the South Butler Nostalgic Drags. They hold it three times a year. Not a huge show but they were running just about everything down the track. Crazy seeing altered dragsters running over 110 mph in the 1/10th on a tiny little track right before 1000 pt muscle cars.

I wasn't aware of this club and event. I'm a bit South of Syracuse, I'll have to pay attention to their activities for next season. Thanks.
