Nice looking car.

You do realize that the grills, stone shield rocket and headlight bezels are from 1971 model year, and the mirrors are not OEM.

I see 72 tail lights but what really caught my attention is the right side fender. That fender is from a 1970 obviously as it doesn't have crumple ridges. So the car has been fixed by a PO at some time. Just an FYI? Those 70 fenders in pristine condition command a lot of $$$.

Good luck with the sale, be prepared for some comments about the Chevy powerplant. That goes with the territory on an Olds forum.

Looking forward to seeing the completed interior pictures.

Thought maybe a Olds guy would like a shot at it before it heads for ebay after the interior goes in

Not far off, but on this site the Chevy engine is probably the turn off. In addition to the things Allan pointed out. I would try the local classifieds as this site is a small market.

What does the VIN on this car start out as? Is it 336871, or 3G87? The more I think about this the more I'm inclined to suggest this is a 1971 car with 72 tail lights. That 1970 fender may be the original one, as some very early 1971 cars were made with leftover parts from the 1970 model year.

The 1972 models with AC did not have cowl vents, but the 71's did. Just another quirk of the model year differences.

Ok, that makes it officially a 72 model after all. It appears to have had some front end repairs and parts replaced. Still a beautiful looking car.

The motormounts and front electrical harness would all have been changed since the Chevy motor isn't a straight across bolt into Olds.

There was no need to change the engine harness as it would just need some minor mods. With new frame brackets that bolt in it would actually be a simple drop in.

The car is very nice and will sell through other venues. Just don't advertise it as something its not.

??? Eric, I think we're on the same page here BUT, modification of the harness is a change to the harness. I was thinking more along the lines that the engine harness needed to be replaced with one for a chevy, but apparently not.

SBC is not a straight drop in. It does require changes to the motor mount positioning, and also a change to the T350 (adaptor plate) unless it's a chevy 350 trans that accompanied it.

I like the look of the car just the way it is.

The only electrical change is the starter as its on the other side of the engine. All the other connections are basically the same. It probably has a Chevy trans also.

The Olds engine brackets unbolt and the Chevy brackets bolt on their place. Its an A body, One would just treat it as a Chevelle.

Yup, I figured on the starter. When the car is sold one thing the buyer should definitely remember is the firing order is the same as Olds, but distributor turns the opposite direction.
