Save Me - 69 Vista
Save this one... someone.... YEs it is mine, it is in Roanoke, VA. The wheels are blacked out, because the chrome rally wheels are no longer available.

AWWW. You're killing me. That's within trailering distance. Unfortunately, I just bought another 62 wagon that I've been chasing for more than a year and shipping from the left coast alone is costing me more than your asking price. Of course, this 62 has not one speck of rust anywhere.

Jamesbo - all glass yes. The lugagge rack has been removed along with all of the chrome around the wood grain down the side. Previous owner did not like and threw them away! All other chrome is there. I was going to make a custom Cruiser out of it, so I did not want that chrome either.
Franco, I checked my email and do not have anything from Craigslist?? Please try again.

Sorry about the foot pics... long story short, it grew back wrong from an injury (break) 20 years ago and the doctor decided it was necessary to reconstruct it! Kinda like the Vista, it can be reconstructed...
Extensive work 4 plus hours on the table, leaving pins, plates, shims, screws, etc. - Surgery was Nov. 15th and I am still hurting today! I understand that by Nov. this year, it will be as good as it will get. I remain hopeful there are good days ahead.
I was able to attend the Charlotte Auto Fair and rented a scooter... the scooter was awesome! I could not have gone without it. Lots of nice cars, I saw a beatuiful 70 442 driving around in the area, white, OAI hood, black stipes and black vinyl top. Chrome ralleys - beautiful!

Thanks... I just hope the foot winds up better than it was pre surgery. It would really be bad if I went through all of this for nothing....
Anyway, if I am forced to part out the Vista. What would be the items worth keeping to sell and what needs to just go on to the scrap yard in the sky?

Fenders if they're usable, doors, glass, rad support and bumper cores. Motor trans and rear. Save the 3rd seat and side interior panels in the back. If the dash is good save that. Scrap the bare shell. The drive line is worth what your asking. If you were closer I would have bought it with the wheels we couldnt get together on.

It's a nice looking car with some 'medical issues' too. Whoever installed the gages did a really nice job. Might be an idea to throw at least one more nut on the wheels instead of just those 2 holding it in place.
Just curious, how did you end up with a 350/400 combo?

I acquired the car in a deal to transplant the original 400 (previous owner put like 3 grand in) into an 84 Hurst Olds t-top car. I put the 350 I pulled from my '78 Cutlass when I went 455 in it. The 350 has been sitting a while, but ran good, it has an EBrock performer cam in it. (rebuilt +/- 40K ago) The TH400 cooling lines did not go through the radiator, they went to a nice big external cooler, so I have never even opened the lines on it. I drove and parked it as far as they are concerned, It has a recently replaced radiator as well, very good shape. The front bumper is driver quality, I think better than a core... I guess is what I am saying. Dash is good...
My goal was to net enough from the car to buy an OAI hood for my 70 Supreme.
WTony... Yeah the wheels went to North Carolina, I planned to used those funds to put back into the project... sometimes life gets in the way!

Wish you were closer, I like alot of your stuff. Is that a trailer hitch I see? Did this car have the braces that go over the engine from the middle of the firewall out to the outside of the radiator support by the front fenders? Not there in the pic, and I know 70's had but maybe not 69. Also how are the inside C pillar covers- I got some now but they are in demand- they're usually dry rotted deteriorated. What are those door seals for? Let me know If you do part and want to sell this stuff. Thanks, Greg

Hitch = yes
support rods = probably 70 and up, I don't think this car ever had them.
door seals are for the Vista
Let's see... A pillars are the fronts, B in this case must be between the front and rear doors. C pillars = are they in the rear or behind the rear doors?
Either way I have never even looked at them to be honest. I will check them out tomorrow after work.

C pillars are right behind the rear doors, in front of the rear side windows, I had a hard time finding some, I am all set but you should be able to sell them if they are any good, Also the garnish moldings that go under, and up the front of the rear side windows on the inside are hard to find in good shape, usually rusted out, They are really thin sheet metal painted the same color as the interior. And you should be able to sell the vista windows if they aren't too badly fogged or delaminated or cracked. The seals-- are they for all 4 doors or just front or rear? I have seen those after market seals sold thru some places that are for "4 door sedan or wagon" but the vista cruiser doors are longer than the regular"flat top" wagon so I question whether they are correct. We could check the # that is on them. I may be interested in the hitch. Though shipping may be killer.. I cant really tell by that pic what it is, Can you get a better pic? Send me a pm. Thanks Greg.
