1987 442 W/ T Tops

For Sale 1987 Oldsmobile 442 With “T” Tops $11,000 Chicago IL.

I bought this car in October 2011and am the third owner (according to Auto Check VehicleHistory Report and I have the report). The history report lists the car in Indiana until 2010 then it was sold at auction and transferred to IL. Most of the car is original, but there have been some replacements shocks, heater hose, visors, and I added an alarm system. I have also replaced the rims and tires with the rims purchased from Specialty Wheels in Oregon. Rims and tires alone are worth $1,000. The current mileage on the car is 78,600. The car was repainted before I purchased it so I don’t know how long ago it was repainted. The car has not seen rain or snow and I only clean it with McGuire’s ultimate wash and wax anywhere. The underside is clean. The interior shows some wear and there is a crack in the dash (see picture). The “T” tops work and have the original covers.

The car runs and sounds great and everything works, heat/ac, wipers, radio, power antenna, etc. Car has power windows and locks, also has rear window defogger, original 307 V-8e ngine and posi rear wheel drive, A/C has been updated to R134

I purchase a 1972 Cutlass S last year and do not have the time, garage space or $$$$ to keep 2 cars otherwise I would keep it.

Calls and text messages will be answered after 5:00pm on weekdays and after 12:00 pm on weekends. E-mail me if you need more pictures ljam02@ameritech.net

Wow, that car is the twin to mine, right down to the fiber optics (mine do work, and I don't understand why all cars don't have them). I'm sure yours work, they are a very simple system.

My dash is even cracked in the same place, although not as badly.

Good luck with the sale.

It does have the fiber optics but they do not work too well (the lights are very dim). I really do not pay any attention to them.

I'll take a look at them tomorrow when I get home from work and let you know which lights work.

Thanks

m455sx,

Just checked them out and the drivers side works the headlight optics are dim but you can see them at night. The parking light/turn signal works good. The passenger side does not work and it looks like someone tried to repair them. There is black electrical tape wrapped around the optic cables about half way up form the lights.
