1954 Olds 98 $1500 on Norfolk Craigslist

This just caught my eye and seems like a pretty good deal. Thought maybe someone would be interested. Looks pretty complete and in decent shape.

That looks like a pretty easy one to save. Yeh, it is a 98 4-door but what a cruzer.

Imagine the look on a valet's face when he sees that N Dr S Lo R shift quadrant! I've had more than one young buck at a garage ask me how do I make this car back up? Simple, junior- put it in R and it will back up. "Ain't never seen no transmission like this."

Stylin' for sure. Among my favorite year Ninety Eights, and believe it or not my favorite 1954 98 bodystyle. It just oozes slink. Get behind one and it leaves no doubt what it is, with "Oldsmobile Ninety Eight" script plastered across the decklid. Far cry from the late 90s when they went out of their way to avoid putting "Oldsmobile" anywhere on the cars.

If I felt up to restoring another one, this one looks like it would be a good start.

Very cool Olds. I wish I was closer to this one. The engine looks fresh. I wonder what the deal is on it ?

If the floors are fairly solid, and body is pretty rust free......I wouldn't even ask the wife! The patina is perfect too.....

A mechanic that I use occasionally drove my car into his shop put my car in drive thinking it was park and walked away only to find it heading south out of his shop and toward traffic,no harm but he was very embarrised!....Tedd
