anyone not interested in a car like that would be nuts, but.... you can probably get more for it than most could afford

Documented, as in protecto plate, build sheet, etc... no. Missing all that good stuff, but car is documented my the Hurst/Olds Club of America, the original owner was Wayne Garnhart who was a NHRA driver that raced in the Rockford, IL area.

#511, I finally figured out where I've seen it (ROP). Good luck with the sale Vinny. I figured you had sold it by now. It's a beautiful car.

Wow, my Cutlass is probably worth 9% of that. Good luck with the sale. If you find the right person i'm sure it would sell for even more.

The car is a nice car, but th ebody was restored in 1984, and there are some chips here and there, a few very minor checking in the clear... things I know are there that most might not notice right away...

So, you think I should ask for more? The engine has 50 miles since rebuild, NOT orig block, but restamped, all the engine has correct part numbers, as well as correct date codes AS IF it were original....

How much??? $65K? 70K?

I'm sure you already know this but the last couple nice ones that sold in 2007 before the market came down sold for more than $80k. They were recent restorations, numbers matching throughout.

Hi Mike, yes I am totally aware of those cars, one sold for $102K back then!

I think my price of $55K is a fair asking price, no? I am open to offers, so that does mean that I am not firm on the price.

Did you look at all the pics of the complete chassis restoration I did 3-4 years ago?

Thanks!

Vinny

My personal opinion is that 40-50K is a fair asking price for a frame off restored car.

My reasoning? If i went out i could probably buy myself a brand new muscle car for around that price. So for 50K i would assume the engine would have been redone and essentially a "turn key car".

Then again, i dont have 50K to spend, so i went with the 1000 dollar all-original-but-needing-a-complete-resto car

Vinny,

I think the price is where it should be. I know of a complete, fairly solid one that needs restoration that (I think) just sold for a little under $25k. You'd have to put more than $25k into that one to get it to the condition of your's

Unfortunately, if I didn't have so much debt due to my wife's accident a few years back, I would not be selling it.

If it goes or not either way I will be happy and blessed!

the correct vin number was stamped onto the machined pad on the block, BUT the car is documented as NOT having the original engine, so it can never be passed off as numbers matching.
