Agreed. Lots show up at Christmas, and it is a gorgeous looking car. Looked at the photobucket shots linked to the ad. He has some shots showing numbers, but can't tell what they are. Would be neat to know the engine code; am guessing it is a W001003G derivative. Not going to bother him though as I am not going to buy it. Someone will sure get a nice car though

Nope. Just saw something interesting on that auction though. After reading his ad and noting
You'd be hard pressed to find a more original,
I couldn't help but smile when I saw this pic showing the car has it's 'original' 71/72 am radio...which means the dash has been butchered to make it fit. Wonder what else was done? Also you're not supposed to know about or research cars before you buy them? I guess this is nitpicky but it just raises a flag is all I'm saying....

If you follow the link to the pics you will find more that you won't like. The front bumper doesn't fit well, the driver side headlight bezel looks messed up and had the black paint removed from them, it could have been hit in the front, which would be fine if it was fixed properly and not showing things which still need work. And I think I see a big rust hole in the trunk that has been half axx fixed. It just doesn't look to me like one that has been shown a lot of "love". I think this is one that should be seen in person before purchase.

Ah, but the bumper probably is original as are the other things. Rust is extra provenance, dincha know? Good catches there! I wasn't really looking that close, the radio just kind of popped because I have a 72. Cheers!

Total change of color, yellow was not offered on the 66, cowl tag shows paint code D which is a light blue color. Wrong seat covers. 1964 Olds wheel covers.

Breaking News (NBC) Olds detectives put in a long weary night uncovering flaw after flaw in 'the most original 66' Olds Cutlass" to hit Craigs List and Ebay. A spokesperson for the website "Classic Oldsmobile" shrugged and said "We see this stuff all the time. You'd think that someone trying to sell a vintage car would know there are watchdogs out here that monitor this *****".........

That and more on the daring breakin at Master Blaster Machine Shop coming up at 11. We now return you to normal thread posting....
