I've decided to put my 55 Olds on the market for purchase.
A little background on my 55... It's a California "survivor" all original to the best of my knowledge with no {major} changes. Roughly 87k on the odometer. In excellent original condition and drives like a dream. Everything works with the exception of the wipers which is due to dry-rotted hoses. The wipers actually work and move just not very well. The dash clock is also non-functional. The original tube-type AM radio powers-up fine and sounds great. The car is in the original color combination {aqua green / butter cream}, the paint is in good condition but not show-winner quality. I am the second owner and have had it since 2001 or so. I purchased it from the original owner who recieved it as a wedding gift in 1955. He was a career auto mechanic who drove the car until the early 70's when they could finally afford a new car. At that point he decided to moth-ball the Olds. He kept it in the garage from the early 70's to 2001 and added less than 300 miles per year. It was maintained well. I've had the jewel since 01 and driven it less than 1000 miles... I have simply lost interest in keeping the beauty "waiting" until I have the financial resources to re-store it the way I see it should be. Besides... I can use the revenue from the sale to get some debt relief so it's time to go. Actually... everytime I go into the garage I get bummed out to see this beautiful car sitting quietly... waiting till I can get the budget together to re-store it. Hopefully it'll find a new home with an enthuasist who will see a way clear to re-storing it to it's former glory. I've kept the 55 garaged from the moment I took ownership and have started it monthy and driven it at least once per month. Price is $15,000.00.
