looking for rear brake drums 1962 dynamic

can't seem to find these drums any where are there any other cars like an plymoth that can be used as a crossover part or does someone have any other sorces that i may have overlooked been to kanter

I'm showing that 61-70 88s (except Jetstar 88) use the same rear drums. Fusick lists NOS GM drums for $110 each.

Before spending big bucks with Fusick, here's another thought. The 62 D88 uses the same 11" x 2" rear brakes that have been used by GM forever on full size cars and half ton trucks. All of these have the 5 x 5" bolt circle. If function matters more than absolute correctness, I'd snag the rear drums off an 80-90 B-body wagon in a wrecking yard and try it for size. If it works, great, and if not you're only out $10-$15. Note that only the wagons and police/taxi four doors use the 11" brakes and 5 x 5" circle.

My '63 parts book shows the same number (583112) being used from '59 through '62. '63 is a different number (588142). My newer books are at work. That's why I posted the numbers, so I can refer to them when I get to work tomorrow. But they could all very well supercede to one number.

I'll confess that I first got the 61-70 reference from the Fusick catalog, but since then I checked my Hollanders (40th edition, printed 1974) and they show 59-70 with 11" x 2" drums and 5 x 5" bolt circle all being interchangeable. Again, the Jetstar 88 with the 9.5" drums and 4.75" bolt circle don't interchange, and some of the 98s apparently don't either, but all the 88s do. That's not to say that the part numbers are identical. Some of these drums may have external ribs, some may be smooth, and some may use the dampening spring, but all are functionally interchangeable. If you don't care about total correctness, these will work. Hollanders also gives the prudent advice that the drums on both sides should match.

As I noted before, given the way GM uses common parts, I'm willing to bet a cold adult beverage that almost any 11" x 2" GM drum with the right bolt circle will work. That covers the 80-90 B-body wagons, Astro vans, and 88-91 half ton pickups with the 5 x 5" bolt circle.

Well..... I admit I HAVE found errors in Hollanders, though usually they err on the conservative side. For example, the show unique front spindles for 69-72 442s with disc brakes with no changeover to the equivalent Chevy/Pontiac/Buick A-body cars. I have personally done disc swaps onto Cutlii using Chevy and Pontiac donor cars with no problems.
