window cnannels
i have been workin on my 72 cutlass, an repaired the rusted window channels. My Q. is the tack or screw that holds the window clips where should i look for those or can i use screws please help
If its the front window channels, then thay have small little black tapered head screws. I had to replace one of mine. I ordered aftermarket, and had to weld a small piece in at the top as they did not meet correctly. Hope this helps.
Which window channels are you talking about? If you mean the pinchweld area around the windshield and back window, the factory uses welded-on studs to hold the trim clips. DO NOT use screws. Screws are a quick-and-dirty repair for a broken stuck and usually only lead to water leaks and rust. The correct repair is to reweld the trim studs using a stud welder.
