Building a 'new' full Trunk Pan for a 1972 Cutlass S
Hello Everyone,
I am working on piecing together a full trunk pan for my 1972 Cutlass S. I am aware that no one makes a full pan for these as the rear portion where the floor or the pan meets the back panel is different that other A Bodys.
We have a local yard that has this peice in an Arizona car he got a while back so my plan is to mate this original part up with a new full pan for a Chevelle as I have heard that the actual floor and going up into nearly the passenger compartment are an exact match.
This trunk is in terrible shape against that rear piece, the floor of the pan itself, and completely rotted next to the inner wheel wells going into the passenger compartment.
Does anyone know who sells good quality full (spot weld to spot weld) pan that would work for this application?
Thank you all again for your continued advice...it is very much appreciated.
Ben

Why would there be a down side to doing the 3 piece kit jus tfor the floor of the truck ? the drop off's can be fabricated. I fabed mine up I just patched my floor with flat sheet because I drag race it so im not too worried about it.
You talking about this ?

personally I would go this route.

Thanks for the quick response and I am looking for a piece similiar to the first item you posted.
I have added a picture of the truck before it was blasted...the areas highlighted were completely rusted out and the PO had just filled it with bondo and caulking.
I am looking for a pan that goes up and into the passenger compartment. Since the floor of the pan itself is completely rotted as well as the rear piece that rolls up into the taillight section I think this is the best route for a factory looking repair.
I am just finding it hard to find one that goes that far up and forward towards the back seat bracing.
Thanks!!!!
