file fit rings

well, I am saving the original pistons for re use . The 4.125 bore is just that so am sure that in conjunction with the bore looking ok ,the pistons being ok and this being a street only build , I require a hone and new rings ,What size gap do you recommend .Currently ,using the existing rings placed at the base of the bore ,I am getting a 55 thou gap.Presumably, i want somewhat less than that ?
paraphrasing
> what brand of ring do u recommend?
> what gap do you recommend ?
cheers

Different brand rings, may have different specs. They will have the info in the box thet come in..055 is a lot, new ones will be more like 25-28 on top one. Also if you use different pistons, some require more than stock ones.

New replacement rings will give about .018" to .020" gap, first and second ring, about what you will want. Oil rails will have more gap. If your bore is worn, the gap will increase by dia x pi.
