I am about to start rebuilding my 455 i recently bought but then i started thinking... dont i need the wiring harness for this motor? this may sound stupid but i dont know, does my '75 Olds 455 motor have a "wiring Harness"? and if so where do i find one? I bought this motor for $175 and it was missing the intake, exhaust manifold, carb, distributor and water pump... does this engine have a wiring harness? and where do i get one? Also a junkyard in the area has a pair of "C" heads for my motor for $100 just need to be cleaned... a good deal or no?

 

Not knowing what year your Olds I'll guess that you can use the 307? 350? harness for your 455 without a problem. Might have to modify for the HEI ignition if you are using one. 110 buck for a set of C heads is a good price. A great price if they are large valve heads. A good intake is the edelbrock performer, carb either a Q-jet or a Holley. Distributor HEI best bet. Are you going to rebuild the 455, You should if you do not know the condition. Its a low compression engine and if you want the power you need to upgrade the pistions to get better compression. Good luck

I would jump on those heads like a PETA member on the Barnum & Bailey circus!

C heads are decent heads. Truthfully, if you are decent with a soldering iron then you probably won't need to buy a wiring harness. There aren't many wires that run to a 455. The major ones are going to be the starter, alternator, and distributor. Everything else is optional.
