Vinyl top material

I am thinking of putting a vinyl top back on my 70 442. The body tag has 28C on it. I think the C means blue. Does anyone know if it was a light or dark blue for a 70? I have seen both on cars. Does anyone reproduce this material? I wish I had one of those 1970 oldsmobile dealer books with the samples. Thanks

I'd probably go to an upholstery shop. I had the simulated convertible top redone on my Toronado and the guy I took it to had books everywhere...had to be dozens of them. He had a lot of resources too.

When I had my interior done the shop owner had a load of material samples from different companies. There were 3 or 4 large binders to look through just for seat fabric.

i got a vinyl top from fusick and it was very nice. looked to be an exact match to the one that was on the car. it was for a 68 cutlass. i have seen some where the seams were in the wrong place.

Amazing...I had never looked at their catalog before. I can't believe how many parts they have! You could practically build a whole car...haha. Maybe someday they will have parts for the late 70's and 80's cars. Trim especially is hard to find.

I tried Fusick. They only had it in black and white. I was hoping they had it in the blue because everything else I've gotten from them has been good. I tried a local interior and top place called Automat and they said they couldn't get the same levant grain. They also were not sure what the original blue was. If I can't get it close to the right color and grain I don't think I will put it back on. I'll keep looking around.
