Alternator swap 1963 F 85 Convertible

Hi to all who read about my problem
The alternator in our Olds does not work.Has anybody of you ever heard about an not Original that i could use?If possible from a european car?
The shipping costs to Germany are horrible and we have to save money before we can buy a original part from the US.
The summer is still on and we try everething to keep the Olds running.
Thank`s for your ambitious efforts to help us enjoy the sun,
Claudia&Martin

Just have the alternator in your Oldsmobile rebuilt. A shop that rebuilds electric motors and vacuum cleaners should be able to rebuild your alternator easily. If you can't find a shop locally to do it then order a rebuild kit and do it yourself. The rebuild kits are easy to install and the kit would be less expensive to ship than an entire alternator. Kanter or Fuiscks might have an alternator rebuild kit for your car.
