Junk yard mistake
Junk yard mistake
I was at a junk yard with a friend today that was packed with 50's and 60's and 70's cars. The cars were packed in there so tight you had to walk across the roofs and hoods. My friend that weighs about 350 pounds walked across a 71 442 louvered hood and buckled it bad. It was a nice usable light green hood.
I did manage to pull out the louvers.

No,
We were expected to walk across the roofs and hoods. You can hear the buckling of the roofs, hoods and trunks all day long from others walking around, its a crazy thing, I walked 75 yards without ever touching the ground. If you want to get inside a car you need to go through the windshield or window. What a waste. The cars are considered scrap iron and have been sitting for 30+ years. He is waiting for steel prices to get better so he can crush them out.

I wish I would have brought my camera. There was a complete 67 Cutlass 2drht. That we got all the chrome strips off the sides and fender for $5 each. There is a 66 Starfire with a complete engine with all pulleys etc. The cars are boxed in and he won't lift a finger to help. He says if you want something you'll have to figure it out for your self. I saw a few early 60's Olds convertibles including a 61 98 conv, several 63 -65 dynamics. 65 SS396 Impala convertible, The only 68-72 cutlass hardtop was the one with the hood. The hood was stepped on before but salvagable, I'm thinking it is too far gone now. I saw a 73 or 74 Cutlass with a louvered hood also.
Pm me for the details. These cars are carcasses. Its about 20 years too late to drag one out. All the convertible tops are rottted off and even the seats are all shot. There were several sets of bucket seat still there but were destroyed.
