police super 88 project

I just discovered I can post here!

So my 64 super 88 has the body work done, and first colour applied...

copcarpaint2.jpg

The body was rust free (some surface) and pretty straight for a 45 year old car

Front doors and roof got first colour...

copcarpaint3.jpg

The 88 has some very cool lines the black should emphasize... Black gets sprayed Thursday or Friday.

The box is covering my trailer hitch... I use this puppy to haul my travel trailer.
I can't wait to see it with all the chrome back on! I do need the front fender Super 88 script though.

and yes... camera phone = lousy pictures...

That is going to be soooo cool. Can't wait to see it. Do you have some bubble gum lights for the roof?

Getting stoked. Black paint starts today or tomorrow. I should have some cool pictures by Monday. Then I have to put the brightwork back on again. I am still looking for at least one Super 88 script for the passenger front fender. I can make one out of the two broken ones that came ith the car. Rear bumper is an issue too.... none to be found it seems.

Out of the paint booth, ready for tires and trim!

Need to decide on door markings now.

copolds001.jpg

Traditional CHP style, but I am ordering a gumball light instead of the fender mount beacon/stop light

Cool car; that box you had gave me an idea...put a chute pack over the hitch for daily use ..and when you go on picnics you can pull out a table cloth and/or ground cover from the pack...

That is awsome! I look forward to seeing the final pics. Who painted it for you? Did you do all of the prep work yourself?

That's great!

If I could pack it so it would fly out like a chute and cover the ground....

Anyway, the kids and I washed it and put the door handles on it, as wellas some more trim. It's looking great.
Should finish it next week sometime. Just in time for the Father's day car show.

Dean Brothers Auto

I have Dean brothers Automotive. It's sort of across from the detail place. Used to be Errington Mechanical, but I took it over a while back.

Great job. the bubble gum machine cop light really tops it off as an old school cop car. Got chased by a few of these in the day.
