Is the '69 dash pad the same as the '68 on a 442? Going to add AC to my car and need a pad with vent cutouts.

A 1968 A/C dash pad will interchange with a 1969 pad.

Agree. After looking at how much work it was to change out my non air car to factory AC, I settled for power windows instead. I know the AC would be nice, but my car is only going outside on nice days and having the windows down creates an almost "verte" feel. Glad I'm not in a weather zone that needs it.

BTW anyone notice that it's almost impossible to get a car without AC nowadays?

And now for the burning question of the day: Why do most convertibles have AC?

 

Well, we'll see if I actually get to it. The car is in Phoenix, so it should probably have A/C.

 

You might consider one of the aftermarket AC systems. It will work better than an R 12 system converted to R 134a.

Where does the problem lie in installing one? I'll have the entire dash apart, including wiring, and the engine will be pulled. Seems like a place like Classic Auto Air, provided I give them the right dimensions, should be able to put something together that works reasonably. Or, perhaps I'm wrong....
