See photos below. The envelope has the following written on it:

59
78
B
930

I don't understand the significance of 59, but the other numbers are also listed on the body tag.[/QUOTE]

Thank you for doing this. That envelope is a very interesting factory relic - I've never seen or heard of another being found. Hopefully DaveW31 will look at this thread and maybe know something more about it.

It was a pleasure doing business with you and your Dad. You did a very nice job of documenting what you had.

I am at the evaluate and authenticate stage with the car.

I do believe that it should be restored.

As a W-Machine/Olds enthusiast, I believe that the car is very special based on the unique combination.

Stefano,

We had a good experience dealing with you and Mike as well.

It sounds like there is a good chance that it will be restored, and I look forward to seeing it done.

Thank you,

Jeremy

All just options. Why would you think buckets were standard? Many were bench, even 4 speed cars.

As Diego points out, bucket seats were standard equipment with in the 442 up until the 1972 model year when the 442 was demoted to an appearance and handling option. Prior to 1972, the bench seat was RPO A52, which was a credit option on the 442 - on the order of $60 or so credit, depending on the year.

Bench seat was a no credit option in the Convertible and a credit option on the hardtops.
