Glove box light

I've restored several of the '67-'72 Chevy/GMC pickups and had a couple of glove box lights left over and put one in the hole in the glove box of my '68 convertible, and it fit perfectly. The problem is that when I close the glove box door, it won't contact the little plunger on the glove box light switch to shut the light off. Is there a special 442/Cutlass specific glove box light switch, that allows for the curvature of the glove box door, or can I bolt/screw something to the door strut which will contact the plunger and shut the light off? Any responses will be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. From what source do I get that part?

Ok, now I'm confused. I googled the part # you recited, and one of the only results that referred to a glove box light was for a 67-69 Camaro, which of course would probably be correct, as I'm sure this glove box light was used on many applications, and the picture was exactly the same thing as what I put in my glove box, but on my car, which is completely stock, the glove box door won't contact the plunger on the switch to shut the light off. According to the picture on the internet, I have the correct glove box light. Again, as often, I'm confused.
