Finally......the old guy finished the installation of the subpanel and the plug for the Millermatic mig has it's 240 volt power.
I've even watched the video that came with the welder. Next, a neighbour on the island says he'll spend a couple hours showing me how to weld when I get back over in early May. He fabricates and builds 40s and 50s trucks. Does really nice stuff.
Also says I have to use gas, NO flux-core. Such is life.

Pictures show where my trunk is at now. I must say, learning is a painful thing for an old git like me !!

Looks good Dave I did one side and the center part mounts and all then installed the last side and the mounts for that side. That way I only had to weld upside down on one side instead of both

Hmmm.....spoken like a real welder !! I've got these pieces all together and screwed in now. I suspect I'm going to get trial by fire .

I agree no fluxcore,the more practice you get welding the better,i'm glad my project doen't need much,good luck.Nick

While the old guy (76) was working on the electrical, I had to keep busy. He came from another part of the lower mainland to do this for me, and it took half the day. He wouldn't stand for me to do nothing while he worked, so I did dishes, laundry, changed out snows on the van, repaired the fence, made lunch, more dishes, anything I could think of to look busy whilst he worked. I was exhausted when he finally left.
Today I think I'll drop off the kid and go for a long coffee. I'm right played out after all that electrical business.
