1969 a/c
What you have there looks like the real deal, but there's a couple more items to check on your compressor. On the upper right side of the red part of the tag, the numbers 869 in black should appear. The model number should be 5910698. On the "Oldsmobile" line, it should say 4.00 LBS. And finally, the code number is the actual manufacture date of your compressor. The first two numbers are the month (01=JAN,..., 12=DEC). The second two numbers are the day of the month. The fifth number is the year (should be an 8 or a 9 for a '69 model car), and the last number is the shift at the plant that manufactured the compressor. The date on your compressor could be anywhere from around 2 weeks to 3-4 months before the assembly date of your car (mine is a couple of weeks). That's all the news you probably didn't want to know! The installation looks just like my '69, and my '69 hasn't been altered - it's what came from the factory. My air cleaner snout is a bit more aft than yours, but that just might be the way I put it on.
