Which Air Cleaner

I have a 1967 original from front to rear. However I was wondering if there was more than one air breather that came on the 1967. I have seen photos of at least 3. One with single chrome snorkel. One with dual snorkel ram air and one round with no snorkels. My car has the round no snorkel breather. It appears to be a factory breather to me. Any help would be appreciated on this subject.

IIRC, there are three styles as you have noticed... Single/Closed element for automatics, dual for the W30 option, & open element for standard trans...

And for those who prefer pictures...

Automatic trans cars:

Manual trans cars:

W-30 cars:

And just for grins, there's also the optional K66 CCC air cleaner, optional on any V8 Olds (not just the Turnpike Cruiser) in 1967:

Wow I don't see my breather in those photos. Actually mine looks like the first picture without the snorkel. The round breather looks aftermarket to me. Now I'm confused again.lol

Yes they made one that has no snokel and is open under the edges and then there is the ones for California emissions. If I remember right there is 7 possible.

Thanks for clearing that up Larry. Crazy they made so many different kinds. You get my valve cover breather on the way?

I have the same one in Koda's pic. I had a guy at a car show tell me about this particular air cleaner. I do not know if he was full of it or not. He claimed he had worked at the Lansing factory. The snorkel-less air cleaner became available on the late 67 442's. There was a problem with the die that punched the hole on the main cover for the snorkel. '68 was supposed to go to this style air cleaner, so it was advanced applied to avoid repair costs to the other die. Sounds good, but how to really verify?
