Hello,

I need help identifying these parts. The previous owner gave them to me and said he planned on putting in AC and these are some of the parts for it.

Ok, first one is ac/heater box, goes on outside firewall. second picture is starter, bolts to bottom side of engine and turns engine over to start car.

Benjamin427 the First part you have circled is the underhood"suitcase" for the AC system. In that case is the evaporator. The big valve that comes out of the top is the POA or Throttle suctioning valve. The valve on the bottom line is the expansion valve, Both of those parts are going to be GM A body specific.
You need to know if your car was originally equipped with AC for the suitcase to fit to the firewall. Sure it may physically fit on the firewall, but the hole cutout in the firewall is different from an AC to NON Ac car

Well, is the control panel on the dash for heat only or for heat and A/C?

Post a picture of your firewall ,passenger side. We'll be able to tell you

Looks like in your first picture. There's a AC compressor in the box, also a alternator bracket. Chances are you have a non AC car and the PO was collecting parts thinking it would be a easy swap over.
Bolting on parts is easy. Cutting and patching the firewall sux

The firewall hole to mate the AC evaporator shown is substantially larger than the oh 8x10" hole covered by oh 12x24 plenum seen on heater-only cars.

Rustbucket, congrats on the restraint there. Just the facts. That is a sligtly broken starter there, yes.

OP benjamin247: Check the number stamped into the starter, look it up, see if you have something ordinary or a rare number suitable for an H/O.

This is what a no-AC car has on the engine side of the firewall, it's about 12x24"
