71 442 W30 Parts Car Quality Value
I've found a likely 71 442 W30 never restored that has severe body rust and the interior is trashed. Haven't had a chance to check numbers or see under hood yet, but assuming it is numbers matching and has compete drivetrain what would it be worth?

Assuming it is numbers matching (very big assumption), Here are some very rough figures just in parts value: Usable "H" heads - $4,000 to $6,000; Aluminum Intake - $700 to $1500; Original OAI hood - $2,000 - $4,000; Not to mention the distributor, carb, alternator, air cleaner, trans, interior parts like the console/ seats/ dash, red inner fenders. It really depends on what is there and what is in usable condition. Do you have any pics?

Man that is a really neat car and great colors as well. That looks very restorable from the pics and would be a shame if it was parted out. Please let us know how you make out. Honestly, I would restore the interior, get it running, fix any major rust and drive it as is if it is as complete and solid as it looks in the pics. I guarantee it would get more attention that any other nicely restored 442 and be more fun to drive as you don't need to worry about the paint getting messed up.

Save it! If it’s a true W-30 it’ll be worth your money, and if you enjoy restoration projects it’ll be worth your time. Paperwork / authentication matters if you’re looking to invest heavy and purchase as a W-30. Looks like a decent starting point as well, especially if the original drive train and bolt ons are still present. Many on here could attest to starting with worse.

That car doesn’t look all that bad, arguably restorable and worth buying if the price is right. Largely dependent on presence of “born with” drivetrain and other components.

The wheels are Buick wheels... nothing pictured would lead me to believe this car is a true W30 as of now.... without a broadcast card it will be hard to prove. If the engine has the W30 goodies and possibly the W 30 trans stamp (auto) that would be a good start. Also too nothing pictured says parts car to me if it is indeed a W car.

If the car is all there, all matching, and documented, it won't go under water restoring it, depending on what was paid for it. It will be close, though.
If it can't be documented, and is a 442 with goodies, you'll be under water. Even more so if missing parts.
If it is documented, or can be, and it has all the parts, take pictures there and then before you buy, and make sure parts don't get yanked between committing to buy and picking up the car. Most car yard owners are crooks.

Its definitely a project either way but a nice car if everything is there and car is restored. Id love to poke around that thing.
It reminds me of the the home page for 442.com years ago, you guys remember the viking blue/white 71 w30 on the home page?

That doesn't appear to be totally gone. Not by rust belt standards. What area is it located in?
Big questions are regarding the underside...door seams, frame, floors, trunk floors, rear deck and the filler panel between the rear glass and trunk lid , front dash, and cowl areas. If most of this is solid it's a restoration candidate and worth more as a whole...to an Olds lover. Anyone else would say the parts are worth more. All depends on how far gone the shell is and how much is matching.
Is that upstate Tax York rot or Carolina rust. HUGE difference.
