Sell the engine and the GP before you throw good money after bad and put it back into the Vista Cruiser.

I can get free Caddy engines all day, like getting a "free" kitten or puppy, they all should have free thousand dollar bills tied to them when you pick them up.

With the money you would have to spend on the parts for a Caddy engine (and all that goes with the change over) you could build or buy a really healthy Olds engine and have plenty of cash left over. At least get an Olds 455 if you want a torque monster. The 350 in it can be built up pretty good too.
But I'm a stock original guy and it's your car, you have all the right in the world to screw it up as much as you want.
