I had my 72 442 in it's first carshow this weekend, the Minot ND Motor Magic classic car show and auction.
I was parked next to a 70 Plymouth Roadrunner 440 6-pack, and a silver 67 Pontiac 400 Firebird (not in pics). Nice little grouping of muscle cars.
We had about 75 cars and trucks in the show, and 110 vehicles went across the auction block (not the show cars). Top seller was 68 Camaro SS 396 at 34k, and a 70 Camaro SS 396 at 32 k. The only Olds was a 76 Old Omega, uh, hatchback. It didn't sell...

Gotta ask you something. With the hood up, everything looks perfect. With the hood down, it looks like the drivers side reveal by the grill has a funny upward bend?? Is this just my eyes playing tricks or is the front of the hood got a warp in it? The passenger side sits right, but the drivers side looks like it doesn't sit flush. I had a minor adjustment problem like this with my hood that was easily corrected by adjusting the front hood bumpers, and a tweak on the drivers rear hood spring setting.

Is that your boy? Already a monster jammer by looking at his shirt. Be proud, he looks like a car guy already.

 

The grill needs to be replaced, but they are about 500 bucks or so from year one. The grill has been damaged and "fixed" but I will replace when funds are available. May need to replace the reveal trim on the hood as well. Probably will.
The boy is loving the car and enjoyed the auction too!

 

Right now on evilbay Fusicks has the complete set of grills with numbers selling for 299.00 Might be something to check up on. If it's the stone shield that got damaged (part that holds the grill) you can find them pretty cheap used, or about 60 bucks or less new. Glad to hear your son loves the car. My little guy isn't so little anymore and yesterday I gave him his first driving lesson. Needs quite a few more before I'll trust him with my 72. Best regards. Al

Nothing, if you like hatchbacks. I guess no one at the auction wanted to buy one. Pretty nifty way to maximize space.

 

I've been to Minot a couple of times. Once with my 442 and once with my Vette (now sold). Nice little town. Nice car too.

 

Thanks, we love Minot...works well for us. We had a 71 Sublime green Dodge Challenger and a 65 Chrysler New Yorker both come down from Winnepeg...I assume others did also. I had no idea there were this many nice classic cars in the "local" area.

Living up there in NH you might want to acquire the Camping tent option....Hatch opens and a tent like wrap fits in the opening securing to the car.
Maybe they were available only in 73...we set one up in our new car showroom in 73 and it got lots of looks, it was kinda cool. Hatches are different and look good.
