1974 Delta 88 for sale.

For sale is a classic all original car with 60,000 miles. This is a very well maintained car with very clean interior and exterior. Anything that is not in really good shape I've tried to show in the pics(a few rust spots.) The rocket 350 engine runs very smooth and glides down the highway. Many new parts and just a few are tires, brakes, master cylinder, radiator, water pump, a/c compressor, however I never finished repairing the a/c. No cracks in the dash, the seats are in great shape, headliner is immaculate, all the glass is perfect, no rust in the trunk or rear quarters, one beautiful cruiser. Please respond by email if you need any more info. Thanks for looking. More pics can be seen at this web address. http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k171/budnik0577/

$1700.00 obo

Nice shape! I just saw a '74 88 convertible yesterday afternoon but it was really rough.

Thanks guys, I really wasn't sure about what price to ask. Do you think it's in the ball park?

Truthfully, since I also live here in Missouri, I think that the amount of rust is negligible for a car in this area so that isn't a drawback and the rest of the car is in pretty nice shape; but it must be too high for your market. Maybe the timing is wrong, with gas so high now people aren't interested in the big cars of the seventies that got poor gas mileage. Since it isn't a Cutlass or a Toronado even the Oldsmobile enthusiasts probably aren't biting right now. Perhaps it will move better when the weather gets warmer. If I lived in your neighborhood I would have went to look at it even though I don't need it. I would have considered dealing with you on the car after driving it if it was a good driver and the engine was solid. The car doesn't smoke or leak does it? That may drive the price down some. If you want to sell it for sure list it for just under 2,000 and it will go then. I don't know what you have in it now but we can't always make profit on our Oldsmobiles, especially the big B bodies. Good luck.

Biggest thing hurting the sale is it's a four-door. People can't (won't) get past that even for an entry level collector car. People never stop to consider that four-door hardtops were pretty high up in the food chain; generally the most expensive bodystyle in the lineup below the station wagons.

Plus seeing one blasting down the road on a summer day with all the windows down just looks like a good time.

People don't realize that four door hardtops are the T-Rex of Oldsmobiles.

Ehhhh- no. Toronados are the T. Rex in Oldsworld. Mine has gone by Toro Rex for close to 20 years now. Even had a VA personalized plate on it until it became eligible for vintage plates.

When the car was frustrating me beyond belief, Ralph Braun would always say "Speak kind words to T.Rex". So I called it a @#$%&*!! in the kindest, calmest voice I could muster.
