Carburetors are an "on demand" device, meaning they only provide as much cfm as the engine will draw depending on mechanics like intake manifold porting, head porting, cylinder bore and stroke, exhaust efficiency. You could put a 6,000 (if they made one) cfm carb on your engine but it won't flow more than the rest of the engine is able.
