Fusick Olds Floor Mats, for $65 a Pair.

Has any one bought the rubber floor mats from Fusick with the world symbol (Olds symbol) in the center? They look fairly decent, but are they durable and worth the price?

Not me

I was looking at them for the 98 but they are 159.00 for a set of 4 , 112.00 for the front and65.00 for the rear. then add shipping and import duty they would be well over 200.

I got the one's they sell for my '68. Really nice reproductions. They weren't cheap, but I'm really glad I have them in there instead of some non-original looking mats. Plus, I just think the mats for the '68 were really cool looking.

Not directly related to your question, but generally, I think Fusick sells quality stuff.

I was referring to Page 20 (top of page) in the Fusick's 520 catalog (for older Olds ). But they suggest just doubling the order for the back mats that are the same almost square size. I would really like seeing the front mats taller and with better coverage.

Where did you see the mats you are referring to - which catalog and page?

The mats I was looking at were from catalog 19BC page 25

I've thought about buying these before. However, they only list them up to 1970. I'm not sure if they would fit my 71.

Possibly they changed the style of mat in 71 maybe went to one with fabric in it? I would not think that they dramatically changed the floor size or layout. I know the 69 & 70 are pretty much the same body wise but not sure about the 71.

64-72 A-body and 65-70 B/C use the Fusick repro mats Tom has. 71-76 B/C use a different contour carpet textured rubber mat with a Rocket Circle moulded into the fronts, and 73-later A and 77-later B/C use the generic GM logo mat. The E car was very different because of its flat floor, and there are differences from year to year on those.

61-64 mats are quite different from later ones- the rears are huge. Up thru about 58, I think the factory mat was the smaller Rocketworld mats front & rear, and I'm honestly not sure about 59-60. I know they had larger OLDSMOBILE lettering than the 61-64 but not sure about the size and contour.

I downloaded the 19BC catalog and viewed the floor mat you spoke of. I like it but will have to go with the ones for my 57 Olds (in the older years Fusick catalog). I took a close look at the floor and the power brake assembly and gas pedal limits the size. These are sure expensive mats and I would hate to get it wrong! Thanks for the comment.

Well fusicks does not sell those carpeted mats for the 71-76 B-C body 88 and 98. there must be another supplier that does?

I was surfing around ebay a few days back and ran into a biz that custom makes floor mats designed for Olds cars (in general). It had a rather large rocket crest that looked a bit too gaudy for my tastes, but they may be able to tone that down.

if you have the rocket emblem done in the same color as the background, it is very subtle, same color on color, I did it in red and it looks great.. will post a pic later

Most 71-76 B/C mats are rubber with a carpet texture moulded in. Some 74-76 deluxe mats had carpet inserts glued on- the stuff looks like indoor-outdoor carpet. Tends to fuzz after a few years use.

An NOS or used set is going to be your only source for those years.

Fusick is going to be spot on with their year applications on stuff like this. They are Oldsmobile people.

Interesting info. I guess I will have to go back to my interior guy for floormats. I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg for NOS or vintage mats. Too bad the mats that Fusicks carries don't work for 71-76 B/C bodies.

Dan, doesn't look like my first response went through. They are made of a heavy good quality vinyl with the correct Olds Map logo for the period. I have purchased some for my 55 and my 57 Olds. Like with most collector replacement items, If you want something that looks like the real thing, they make you pay for it. They do look original and probably won't ever need to be replaced, so the price in the long run seems to be worth it to me. I hope this helps

Hal,
We didn't get your first response and I am assuming you listed who the floor mat company is that you used for your custom mats. Would you please re-post this info. It sounds like you found a winner.
Thanks

I have a set for my 55 Olds 98 and I'm happy with them. They are good quality and period correct.

This is good to know - especially being period correct.
Thanks.

I bought a set for my '71 442. They came (I think) only in black and were costly to boot. However, like any of the stuff I ever bought from Fusick's they are of the best quality. They look like nos type GM made stuff from back in that day. I also bought a big rubber "oldsmobile' floor mat that goes in the trunk. It was of the same quality. Same old deal-you get what you pay for. That is especially true at Fusick's.

Glad to hear about your experience with mats from Fusick. I have also decided to buy the front and back mats and also the large one for the trunk.
