Question 17" wheels on '78 Cutlass

Looking at a set of Boyds wheels for my Cutlass.. Sizes are 17" x 7" with 4" BS. & 17" x 8" with 4.5" BS.

Trying to stay between 25" & 26" DIAM tire b/c still have the stock rear and don't want to slow the car down with a taller tire.. I think I currently have 215/60r15s all around..

thinking about 225/45 up front, 245/45 out back..

Just want some input on if I will encounter fitment issues with this wheel/tire combo.. I don't think so, but just looking for some other insight..

Suspension is pretty much stock.. KYBs all around, Moog 5413 springs out back, currently have 5662 spring up front, but probably gonna swap out to 5658 b/c the front currently sits a tad higher than the rear b/c of the stiffness of the springs.

thanks guys.

You've done your homework on this one. Your new front tires are virtually the same diameter and only 0.4" wider than your old ones. You've picked wheels with near zero offset, so that looks good. Rears are over an inch wider, which should be no problem at all, and again wheels have near zero offset. Well done.

I never got those wheels.. Changed my mind on them.. Probably going with AR torq Thurst IIs.. What should the backspacing be to run a 17x8 up front, and 17x9 out back.

I am thinking of going with 245/50 tires up front, 255/50 out back. Was originally thinking 40series but I prefer a little more sidewall.

appreciate it
