Finally got some new wheels and tires

After all these years I never had a set of new wheels.

235/60-15 x 7" front
275/60-15 x 8" rear

I should have taken pictures after removing the blue crap.

Thanks for all the comments.
The wheels make a big difference in the look of the car. I just got to put the cowl scoop on and paint the hood, install disc brakes, do some touch up painting and call it done. Well almost done.

where did you get them?

Beautiful car. Mine is blue bottom, white top. Bet there weren't many made like that. Wish it was other way around, but we'll see how it dresses up.

where did you get your wheels? That's what I am on right now... wheels, then tires. If not, tires, then wheels. Have original wheels, black steel with standard hub caps. The wheels will make a diff.

Did you think of redlines, the wide ovals, they came with? what'd you settle on?

thanks

old cutlass - there is one more

Well, I skipped over it. OLDCUTLASS has a blue bottom and white top. Is that the paint code it came with?

Is that the deep blue that has the funny name? tahoe Turquois? and Cameo Ivory top? Is your car color matched in the rehab?

Thanks . Beautiful car. Mine is original paint, and tired looking.

Hey, anyone... along those lines.

My original 67 paint is so thin you can see spray lines (thicker and thinner in spots), and on the rear of the car (top of hood) there is a PATINA, ?, that shows through, almost like a slight rust below and through the paint. The enthusiast that sold it to me said, he'd leave it, and try to buff it up a bit, and the patina and the age on the paint, original would make the care worth more. There is no way I can leave it for good, since some body work is needed (very small cancer in wheel well bottoms).

Any opinions about old 'stretched'-to-try-to-make-it-look-like-something paint, vs doing it over?

thanks for opinions.

I meant top of trunk lid. As if the car sat in a car port some, and the rear end got a bit more than the rest of the car. Top of hood and sides are actually pretty decent paint quality for a 55 year old. (it was barn kept for the last 30 years.).

disks???

If you put disks on they won't fit with your wheels, I have been told. The 67 wheels will not allow disks. Are yours true 67 wheels? or made for disks?

good luck.

The car look good with Cragers, I used to get tired of seeing them on everythig when I was a kid. Now there are'nt many people running them so I like them! Nice ride, I still want a 67 but I have to finish a 71 Supreme first!

Dan, wow tires look awesome. I was going to put some new ss1's on my baby with bf goods but I may have to go with the cragars after seeing yours. I will be doing a disk brake/dual master swap on my car after the motor and tranny are in so I will keep you posted, I have a line on a few OEM setups I think up here but again nothing is for sure. I will let you know.
