wheel and tire size for a '65 cutlass

Hi gang, I looked through the threads for some info but didn't find exactly what I need. The plan will be to lower the car 2 inches and put disc brakes at all four corners and run 15" steelies with poverty caps. I want to run the widest tires I can that won't rub my fenders.
7" wheel? 8"?

Thanks for the help

Depends on the backspacing - I ran 15 X 8" wagon wheels on a lot of cars, without problems.

15" x 7" steel wheels are an easy find with a 5 on 4.75" bolt pattern.

From what generation wagon are you sourcing the 15" x 8" wide steelies?
