Hey Dan, really glad to hear you're keeping the Vista Cruiser, been back and forth about selling it a few times, now you are sure? It is a nice car and probably was taken care of with that nice interior, low mileage?
Restoring a Vista Cruiser is a labor of love, most of the others are a lot easier to find body and interior parts for and are worth more when they're finished with less work and money but are everywhere.
The cars are rare and seem harder to find now more than ever in any kind of decent shape. I hope it isn't high scrap prices or for parts and more like everybody wants them and are grabbing them up or just keeping them.

Hasta la Vista... Cruiser

Yeah i cant part with it, shes not going any where. Luckly my interior is almost mint, really doesnt need much at all. The bodys pretty nice to besides typical rotting spots but nothing a good body shop wont be able to fix, we got one good one in town that all the classic cars get taken to and next spring when i get taxes back i might take her on down there, it wont be to hard to finish off mine, she truely doesnt need a lot of work.

Random question will a 69 442 hood fit on my wagon with out modifications? I would love to get one of the ram air kits for the cutlass/442 and put it on there especally if i drop the 403 in it

The hood should fit, as far as I know the hoods will all interchange along with the fenders and I think the 4 door sedan front doors. I looked at a '70 with W-31 hood scoops that were added along with 4-4-2 emblems. The car was actually still for sale last time I heard, pretty clean rustwise but he wanted 5K for it so I passed, found a pic from a couple of years back.
If you run across an original '71-'72 type PM me and I can take it off your hands since it won't fit your car, I'm only a few hours away.

Looks more like a 69 H/O scoop than a 70 W-31 to me.

But to answer your question[s]
69 Vista and 442 hoods are different but are interchangable
The only 69 hood scoop was on a 69 H/O
W-30 of that year used the under the front bumper OAI system

Some of your choices are 69 H/O scoop on 69 hood or modify a 70 repo to fit a 69 [people do it all of the time]

I knew that and should have been more clear, sorry.
Just showing a '69 type scoop on a Vista Cruiser like Dan was asking about.

Howdy

Just about nothing interchanges between a '65 and a '71 Vista Cruiser but a few of of us need stuff for the second generations too.

Is the car in decent shape or really not worth saving? Do you have any pics and/or can you describe what it has like options, engine, 2 or 3 seater?

I've been looking for decent Vista Cruiser fender script for both sides for mine along with one plastic roof strip for under one of the stainless roof rub strips on the roof rack.
I'll take the whole rack to get it if the price is right at this point.

In the parts wanted section 70vista needs some parts if you want to check it out.

Hi BlueVista!

Okay I am putting all that together for you- the pictures the information you requested and all that- you will have that in the morning.
I most certainly have the emblems you have been looking for and then some! I also have the rack. We can work on group prices if turns ut that you need several items this Vista has been stored and in excellent shape except for the front right side fender and windshield. I also have 2 motors.
Okay Talk to you in the A.M.
Cassie

Hey Cassie. Too cool, sounds good.

I see your in North Hills, where's North Hills?
I think you would be in Lake Erie if we had north hills around here.

Please don't go out of your way or rush anything 'cause of me.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the pics.

Hey Cassie.
Thanks for the info.

Wow, the car is a rare one, not worth saving huh? 455, duals, cruise and a three seater, not a 4 on the floor originally was it?
If you were closer I would make an offer for everything including the car, frame okay?
70vista needs some parts or a whole parts car, did you see his parts wanted post?

My script is like the fourth pic, are '70 fender Vista Cruiser scripts different?
Mine are part number 405393-Vista, 405394-Cruiser, tailgate script has different mounting posts and won't work.
Does the roof rack have the black rubber/plastic strips under the long pieces?
I'm also looking for a rear window switch escutcheon with good lettering.
Decent outside remote mirror, rearview mirror with map light if the glass is good.
I'l go out and look the beast over again and see what else I may need and get back to you, mostly normal stuff like wiper arms.
I tried to Private Message you the other day and it wouldn't work. Do you have it not accepting them in the user control panel? No problem just wondered, I can give you my e-mail if you don't want to use it and we do a deal.

'70 Cruiser Parts

Hi BlueVista,
Thanks for letting me know about the other guy who needs parts I had not seen that. I will save the emblems for you, and yes all the rubber is in tact on the back of the rack. The outside side mirror on mine is cable remote. I will check out the rear windows switch. My email is cassieraef2009@aim.com and you should be able to IM me.
Here are some pictures of the Vista before the accident.

That looks like it was a really clean car, W30 emblems? A lot of nice parts there. If they were just worth more it would be worth repairing but I'm sure you know that already.
Pull a boat around and hold scuba equipment?
Mine was sold new to a cop in Los Angeles and was used to haul a boat to the Long Beach Marina back in the day.

So you have two 455 engines? A member here was just looking for a 455 and was from that area it seems?
I wish you were closer, actually I wish I was closer to you, it's cold outside.
The remote mirror has a cable and lever inside, doesn't look like the left one on the car.

Thanks for the contact info and parts update. I'll e-mail or PM to discuss more specifics or about anything else I may need.

Allan
