flat top at the track.... UPDATE

My daughter made a video at the track last week when she ran the wagon.
Wasnt to bad for a 4000# car with a beat old ignition system, kinked up stock exhaust, the trans slipping when it shifted and street tires.
More to come as work progresses.

Yes, its in her blood. She was bitten at the young age of 7 when I gave her, her first 50cc dirt bike. Not long after that she was riding an 80 and within a year took over my 200. At about 12 she was riding quads, and didnt like the fact that my 400 was faster than her 250, so she stole it from me while we were taking a break out in the trails. Dont know if I was more mad or proud when I couldnt catch her on her 250?

As for the car, its got a 455 with a mild cam and edelbrock heads. And its only got 3:00 gears.....for now.

I can see it now, this is a progressive build, the better she gets at driving the more build dad will do. Keep us advised as you continue the build should be interesting where this all ends up. How do you feel about being the crew chief for the next champ

UPDATE

My daughter wanted to, so I let her race the wagon at the track again tonight.

Let me start by telling you that the cheap 7mm ignition wires were changed out to some new 8.5mm MSD superconductors, and some new NGK plugs were installed, the AR stainless headers were installed along with the 3" X pipe back to the 2 chambered Flowmasters. Yea, its obnoxiously loud, hopefully it will be a little quieter with the tail pipes?

Towed it there just because I had a feeling.....

The night started out fine. She ran a 13.92 @ 97 its first run, coming off the line from an idle. The second run was a little better, 13.86 @ 98, left at about 2000rpm. Third was 13.74 @ 99.6. Fourth went 13.72 @ 100.22 leaving the line at 3000rpm. Thats .8 faster than her best et the last trip there.

I had told her, just 4 runs. Well the line was short so she hopped back in it. The last run, blew the posi unit out of the 9". Did a one tire fire thru second and only ran a 15.4. I hope there's not pieces all ground up in there.

Ahh, I wanted to do a gear change anyway.

Another short video within a few days.

Decided to take the car out for a quick run after pulling if off the trailer today. Made my way to a road less traveled to check the rear. After laying down 2 thick black patches about 60' long on the road, Im confused as to why last night at the track only one wheel was spinning on her last run? Do those posi units heat up and not allow the clutches to enguage? Could it be too much posi additive? I now I used the one whole tube from ford.

I did find out that the trans has totally lost second gear. Its shifting from 1st to 3rd. (but that's another thread.)

I'm sure Jim (monzaz here on CO) can answer all of your questions! He may not pick up this thread, you might want to drop him a PM.
