If I ever hit the lottery (of course I guess I should start buying tickets if I plan on winning), I think I would buy a nice original Rallye 35 and then do a wagon an a convertible. I am surprised nobody has ever done one. Money is not the reason I am not doing it. It is the lack of money.

I had no idea Cutlass wagons had optional roof. I thought they were all Vista Cruisers. It's great to have these saved and restored

I'm going to upload latest pics of my '67 F85 "Flat Top" Wagon. I just got her finished. Car is also For Sale on various sites for around $15K. It's a rare car and a real looker (even if I do say so myself)

Take a look at Gallery or wherever to see!

THANKS!

How is the project going?

I passed it by because it did not have A/C and would have been too much to install.
For a 350, it sure had some hauling abilities!

Yes, i just now saw this...

Both of the white flat tops have blue interior and R/A hoods on them as shown in the aerial photo.

This white '71 wagon ended up on NY. A buddy of mine had this car. He put the chrome tork thrusts on it, did some detailing in the interior, painted the doorjambs and added stripes to the hood. He sold it, I believe, to a gent from Tenn. or Louisiana. Something like that. I'll ask him. I've got to figure out how to post this photo larger.

Lookin' good! Nice wagon, too!
Here's mine when I first got it almost 5 years ago. Still have a long way to go. Losing my job definately put things on hold.

I took this right before they took down the letters at this dealership!

Awesome pic by the dealer! Hope you put the lettering in the wagon as they took it down...
Yes, put the wagon in storage until you get the job situation fixed - I know how that can be!

Welcome - nice wagon! I am looking for one myself.
This site IS the best resource!!
There is a lot of info here on your wagon along with related info that is shared with other models. Make the 'search' feature your best friend!

I knew that Olds dealership looked familiar Rhinebeck, NY. Here's a pic of my 1964 442 at the same dealer 2 weeks before they took the sign down. Talked with the owner for a while, got great pics and info. The first car he sold at his dad's dealership was a 64 442!!

This guy has a double sided rocket sign.

Two for one, put it in your living room window and light it up and you and your neighbors could both enjoy it, much like "The Christmas Story" legs lamp.
Could wire it for 12 volts and bolt it to the roof of your car too.

Someone told me he's got a couple of 'em, a convertible and ?
I knew they were takin down the sign and when I got my wagon on the road, my brother and I went down to take those pics. I wish my Olds was as nice. Someday...

It took me 18 years to complete the resto on the 442 and all 11 years I went to the GoodGuys show there, I always said when I finish the car I'm going to the dealership. I finished it just in time I guess!! Great pics of your wagon too, I'm looking hard for a wagon right now, a 64 Vista Cruiser would be sweet.

Hmmm...a conundrum wrapped in an enigma.

I know you had to have had one of those Radio Shack helmets with the flashing light on top and the siren as a kid Rob?
Just get a hardhat and use the same concept, hope you have strong neck muscles.

Did you have the walkie-talkie helmets too??

Here´s my 64 Flat top. A $900.00 buy in San Diego that now calls south Sweden it´s home. Original drivetrain but i´m leaning towards a 350 that used to be in my 64 Cutlass. Next up are replacing everything in the front and rear suspension.

Old Olds dealerships

Hey 64-442, thanks for posting the pics of the now defunct Olds dealership. Kinda gave me a lump in my throat. Have fond memories, while on many trips to LimeRock Conn, of these small towns with tiny family owned "Agencies".
(love those big glass front doors, with the bent iron handles)
Truly believe that "The General" and the other two got too big for their britches. Here in Orlando, so many of these mega-dealers are now just a ghost town. Maybe a bit off topic from the original thread, sorry.

Technically not a flat top but I think the current company will be OK with that.

Going to do some really fun things to this wagon in the next two months.

Here is the baseline...

My '70

Here's a picture of my '70 Wagon, just purchased last night, 12/17/2011. Drove it home 150 miles with no problems. 350 Rocket, AC, Dual exhaust, SS1's, Bamboo Creme with seinna interior, modern stereo where the 8-track would be. Plans to improve it as I go, but no big restoration project, just drive.

Nice looking car! Should make a great daily drivers. My 1971 flat top has the same color combination as yours, but it's not in nearly that nice! I'm afraid previous owners let mine get down to clunker condition without doing anything to it. Has yours been restored or was it just well kept? John
