ignition problem

hi guys heres another crazy question for a 1954 olds with 324 motor ,i just put motor in ,i think i have the wireing right ,but heres the problem when i turn the key on the on position the motor turns over and will keep on turning over till i turn the key back ,thats just on the on position ,i never had the chance to put it in the start position , i bought a manual on ebay one trouble when they copied it they did the wireing in black and white ,hope somebody can help thanks

It would appear to me you have the wire reversed on the ignition switch, (on) should not turn the starter.

thanks oldsmaniac , i found the problem i had the wires reversed on the safety netural switch , thanks again
