55 Super 88 - automatic shift points Hydra-Matic
I just purchased a 1955 Olds Super 88. I was going to sell it but now I'm going to keep it and show it. It drives like a dream except for the shift point between 2nd and 3rd gear (Hydra-Matic). It shifts into 3rd gear way too early. I've read in some posts that this could be and is most likely caused by incorrectly adjusted throttle linkage. Is this correct? Also, someone wrote that "other things need to be just right" for this transmission to work correctly. What are these "other things" that need to be just right? In other words, what other things should I look for besides incorrectly adjusted throttle linkage. Thanks much bin advance for any advice.
