Even if these trannies came out of a early model chevy they should still bolt up the the olds bellhousing right? Im wanting to do a manual trans swap and found a cheap saginaw to throw in for right now but its from a chevy, but it should still work right?

If it's a late 60's to late 70's Saginaw it should. But it will NOT hold up to a lot of hard driving. If you've get a bellhousing take it with you when you go to look at the trans.

i actually heard that the oldsmobile bellhousings wont bolt up to a chevy bellhousing, and your way better off getting anything but a saginaw. its the least heavy duty model. i have been asking lots of things in the ways of a 4 speed swap lately lol. So im not sure, but i have been told that buick and olds bellhousings interchange, but not chevy. hope this helps

Basically the tranny will bolt up to the Olds bell housing, but be sure your clutch disk is correct (10 vs. 26 spline) and the shifter will bolt to the tail housing. Check whether you need the 27 spline Powerglide type yoke or the Turbo 400 type (32 spline) on the driveshaft.
