55 tranny picture?
hello I am just starting to restore a 55 ragtop and i need to see a picture of a 55 automatic tranny? i think i have one laying around somewhere but i am neww to olds and there are a lots of old chevy parts that i need to sort through thanks this is a great resource!

Oldsguy: Good example of a tranny.
Now, if the OP meant a '55 Olds trans, or transmission, I would have suggested something like the following: Notice that it uses a different bell housing that turns the trans about 25° to the left. This is so the side cover can clear the trans hump in the '54 to '56 cars. The "Slant Pan" IDs it as a '54 to '56 Hydro. Norm |
