Type "A" hydra-matic transmission fluid

Hello everybody, I tore the side cover off my transmission to fix a gasket and seal, now I need to know what type of transmission fluid to use, it calls for type "A" and all I can find is "F", does anyone have any suggestions on what I should use,

Thanks

Those mid 50s Oldsmobiles were unusually fine cars ! My first car was a 1955 Super 88 4 door Holiday hardtop, which I bought in 1964. It used to really irritate my friend with his daddy's fancy new 1964 Thunderbird when I outran him every time in my '55 !
