Cool 4spd interchange

Are there any issues with putting a chevy M/20 into 442? Not taking into account matching #s things I'm just talking about mounting ears and speedo stuff.

The bellhousing bolt pattern for the blocks will be different. If you already have an Olds bellhousing you should be OK. I think, and someone else should confirm this for you, that the transmission to bellhousing bolt pattern is the same.

The Olds speedometer is on the passenger side and the Ch**y is on the opposite side..

if it already a 4 speed car it is a piece of cake, if it's am automatic you will need to drill out the crank for a piolet bushing. Not dificult or expensive, except you will have to remove the crank. I built a divice that bolts to be bell housing and centers a drill bit into the end of the crank, but unless you know a competent fabricator to make fit prfectly, I wouldn't recommend it.

Cool

I already have the correct bell housing, my question was to the tranny mounting ears and speedo arangement. It sounds like it's not a big deal either way--Thanks...Tony...

in that case, yes it will bolt right in. you will have a little extra speedo cable. you should be able to loop it over the transmission case. the M 20 has a lower first gear in it. makes good launches.
